Q:A spokesman of the Japanese Foreign Ministry reportedly said a few days ago that according to the Japan-US Security Treaty, the US will fulfill its obligation of  assisting Japan to defend itself once the Diaoyu Island is under attack. What is your comment?

A:The Diaoyu Island and its adjacent islets are China's inherent territories  since ancient time.

We firmly oppose and will never accept any remarks and attempts by Japan to pressure China on the matter of the  Diaoyu Island via any third country.
