Foreign Ministry Spokesman Kong Quan's statement on the Release of 7 Kidnapped Chinese Citizens


With efforts from parties concerned, seven Chinese citizens abducted in Iraq have been released safely. Accompanied by the members of the Team for the Re-establishment of the Chinese Embassy in Iraq, the seven Chinese arrived at a temporary residence in Baghdad late Monday(in the small hours of Tuesday morning in Beijing). Their physical and spiritual conditions are generally good. Sun Bigan, head of the team responsible for the re-establishment of the Chinese Embassy in Baghdad, conveyed immediately cares from President Hu Jintao and other Chinese leaders to them. Details of the release are yet to be established.
